Listen I love this film, Storm and Jean are stunning, Wolverine looks like a kicked puppy for most of it, Scott has minimal screentime compared to everyone else, Magneto and Mystique are having a diva-off that nobody else is part of, Charles does that sad confused face a whole bunch, Nightcrawler is there... there's so many plots that it genuinely feels about three hours long...
It's crazy that 9/11 happens between this and X2
Lots to love about this. Very stupid. He looks so proud by the end. This is free on youtube and you should spend an hour on it, it's more enjoyable than apocalypse. I hope this is the end of our magician movie kick, but I fear it won't be.
I do resent the time I spent watching this and wish I could get it back, but I understand that it had to happen.
This was way more "50 Shades for transgender men" coded than I was expecting. I like when Igor sees his bob in the mirror and smiles, because I now have a bob and often smile to see it. I also liked when they had pus-based gay sex that first time. It makes perfect sense that the game of shadows guy would direct this like this, the script is not nearly as homoerotic to read. It's also good that they punt Andrew Scott into a giant fly swatter, killing him instantly.
I understand why the people that love Jane Schoenbrun feel the way that they do, but these movies just don't hit for me... some of it was funny and of course Gillian Anderson kills (as she always does), but idk man
This is somehow even stupider than people make it out to be, and you have to just pretend you've never thought about disability politics or in fact any politics at all to get through it. Personally I had to imagine that it was all happening to Wolverine. I really liked when they had the big time skip but didn't bother to change anything about the characters, and also when Wolverine forgot his daughter's birthday and gave her a lamp.
